Biography

Luis Abreu was born on June 27th,1976 in Funchal, Portugal. He is currently teaching at Escola Secundária de Jaime Moniz, where he lectures programming related subjects.

He holds a degree on Systems and Computer Engineering (1999) from UMa (Universidade da Madeira). He's also certified as a "C Master Programmer" (2000), "C++ Master Programmer" (2000) and "JavaScript Programmer" (2000) by BrainBench (an on-line certification organization).

In 1999 Luis worked for Expedita, where he delivered the first working prototype of TourIStWeb, the front office of the TourISt project, an E-business system built for the tourism companies in Madeira. after this short paticipation in the TourISt project, he worked on the aMMarquivo project (1999-2000), under the supervision of Dr. Leonel Nóbrega. This project is part of the AMMNet project (developed for Mesquita, a portuguese building company).

In 2001 he was the responsible for the DTIM Web programming section, where he conceived, designed and implemented DTIMWeb (now in beta phase).

Currently his research interests embrace several areas: C++ programming, windows development, Web development and .Net development using C#
