Links

If I really posted here all my favorite links, this would (indeed) be a very long page. However, I'll just post some of my favorite ones, and I'll group them category.

Personal Homepages

Dr. Leonel Nóbrega: Professor at Universidade da Madeira and C++ Guru. He was the first person I've found that really knew what was like to develop an application. Well, due to that, he paid a high price: he was forced to answer my spanish inquisition questions (about programming) for 2 semesters :). If this page is down, then that means that Dr. Leonel is trying to redesign the current layout (well, he's always trying to reach perfection, so if that happens, then it will be a while till we see the new page :) ).

Tim Tabor: Who is Tim Tabor? He's one of the most active elements of the Microsoft's ATL/WTL list, that I had the pleasure of meeting through the change of e-mail messages. His homepage is full of links and source code. Nowadays he is working on the finance world (well, if you get bored there, just come back; I'll make you feel right at home by asking several nasty questions about WTL/ATL :) )

Don Box: Hum...here we go again (who is this guy?). He's the master of COM and one of the co-authors of SOAP. Once I've read an article which stated that he (probably) was the only guy in the world who really knew COM (had even more knowledge about it than the Microsoft folks). Well, guess what: they were right! His articles published at MSDN have an average classification of 4.7 (0 to 5). So, as you can see, this guy is GOOD. Currently he has moved to the mighty Microsoft.

Chris Sells: When we speak about ATL, we must speak about Chris Sells... his ATL Internals book is a master piece, explaining ATL internals as no other book does. It's not a beginner's book though.

Programming

MSDN Library: Starting point for anyone who wants to do Windows Programming.

Art of Assembly: Excellent book about assembly (I'm still reading it though).

WTL Reference: Maybe the best online reference about WTL (there's another good one at Developmentor, but this one is more extensive.

Codeguru: Site with a lot of C++ code. However, you can say that this site has had better days.

DotNet Junkies: Good site wiht lots of references/links about the new programming platform from Microsoft.

Mailing Lists and newsgroups

ATL List: Microsoft's ATL/Com programming list. Full of guys who are always ready to help.

WTL List: Similar to the previous, but more related to windows programming using WTL.

Google Groups: Questions? Here you can find answers for most of the things you want to know.
